After an almost 15-year interruption, I’m getting back into my CNC projects. Repurposing my vintage parts into a CNC oxy-axacetylene table. I’ve got a stable version of XP, which is on a dedicated dedicated Dell box driving a CNC mini mill which appears to generate reliable signals because - I never loaded any other software on the system. I’ve got old Gecko G201s (NOT G201X) and am running NEMA 23 steppers.
Question: which PMDX breakout board should I use with my XP, Mach 3, G201 system? The only fancy feature I need is to be able to run a relay to open an oxygen solenoid.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m debating whether to resurrect the old equipment, or whether I should start fresh with all new equipment and Mach 4. However all new might be pretty expensive.
