Title: KT 2514 Router: Move From Mach3 to Mach4
Post by: TheNigerian on June 08, 2020, 05:31:40 PM
I have a KT 2514 cnc router with a control box that connects via a parallel port running Mach3 on an XP computer.

I need to change to Mach4 on a Dell T7500 running a 64-bit Windows 10 Pro OS - preferably without use of the parallel port on the T7500.

I need help knowing what my options are and how to select please.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.

If your existing control box has a parallel port connector (i.e. DB-25 or 25-pin "D" connector), then the PMDX-411 would be the quickest and easiest PMDX solution.  This plugs into a USB port on your PC and a parallel port connector on your controller.

That is presuming that the step and direction pins on your controller are on parallel port pins 2-9 (the parallel port "data" pins).  If you can post the pin-out for yoru controller's parallel port connector, or alternatively your Mach3 XML file, I can take a look.
