Probing Issues

Greetings!

I know this subject has come up before, but I haven't seen any solid resolution anywhere.

I have a 424 on my mill and except for this particular issue, it's been great.

Sometimes it takes over a dozen attempts before it gets through the probe contact without disabling the controller.

Painful, but I also have a tool setter with wear detecting function (like a knock off Renishaw type), but I can't use it mid program because of course, it will halt 90% of the time on contact.

Has there been any solution to these issues? It's been literal years...
