Title: PMDX-126 + ESS + MACH4 + Encoder inputs
Post by: stuartw on January 08, 2024, 12:12:22 PM
Hello,

I would like to connect encoders to the stepper motors + spindle on my mill and can't see how to do it. I checked the manual and only see one reference to an encoder and section 5.3 only seems to reference "inputs" in a general sense.

Can someone point me in the right direction to connect a quadrature encoder via the pmdx-126?

Thank you

The PMDX-126 does not need to know the signals are for an encoder, it just has to faithfully pass them on to the ESS which must be configured to utilize the quadrature signals as encoders. Refer to ESS plug-in and documentation for details.
