general enquiry - lathe spindle index - Orac
« on: May 15, 2016, 01:55:57 AM »
hi
i have a small denford orac cnc lathe that has just started playing up it will not thread but will still machine the part to the code , but as soon as it gets to the threading it might do about 4 passes it starts making funny noises & looses steps or it  might just stop & do nothing
i am using a licensed version of mach 3 version .062 which has been very stable for the last 2 years , i think it is the spindle index board that is causing my problems but i am no expert .  do you do a spindle index board that would hopefully solve my problem
thank you
robert

Hello Robert,

The person who sent you to us was probably thinking of one or the other of these, now discontinued items:

http://www.pmdx.com/PMDX-170

http://www.pmdx.com/PMDX-171

We currently have no plans to replace them. Sorry.

You might want to consider an item like this instead:

http://www.alliedelec.com/omron-automation-ee-sx871/70179815/

Omron parts should be available from RS Electronics or Element 14 in the UK.
