Pmdx 411, mach4 and gecko g540 on a lathe

In my original profile I have motor3 used as an indexer and it works well.   I would like to use motor 3 as a spindle at times.  Setting up a new profile that has ob1 paired to motor 3 and spindle page selected as step/dir ob1.  What pmdx plugin spindle settings do I select?

Would I have to make wiring changes to use it as a spindle for the new profile (Please say no!)?

pmdx 411, gecko g540 and Mach4. 

When I turn on my power supply all of the motors are locked whether Mach4 is enabled or not.  Is there a way to have the motors locked and unlocked when Mach4 is enabled or disabled?

Using Mach4 turn, build 3233 and Smart Bob with plugin 49.237 & firmware 56.203

I have posted on the mach4 forum since I don't know whether this is hardware or software related
