Legacy PMDX132 Breakout;PMDX135 Power Prep & G202
« on: May 05, 2015, 12:26:05 AM »
Hi All,
Many moons ago purchased what now is concidered legacy hardware ( PMDX132 Breakout;PMDX135 Power Prep & G202)
For one reason or another my project never took form. Being a bit older I am now looking to dust off with some addition vigure and recommence what I never finished but what has always interested me. My main goal would be to retro fit an old mill to CNC and play with making a part or two.
Just wondering if it is still worth trying with the hardware I have or should I be looking at the newer hardware & getting a helping hand.

The PMDX-132, 135 and Geckodrive G202 should still work fine for you.  While no longer state of the art, these boards are solid performers.  We stopped producing the 132 due to parts availability issues and waning interest, not because there were any problems with the board.  Likewise the PMDX-135 was replaced with the PMDX-137 for the same reason (parts availability).  We still provide support for these older generation boards, and in case you need them, the manuals are still available on our web site (http://www.pmdx.com/Archive).

As long as you have a PC with a parallel port, or some motion control board like the SmoothStepper or (for Mach4) our PMDX SmartBOB series (http://www.pmdx.com/MotionControllers), everything should work.
