General Discussion / X only moves to -.
« on: September 24, 2015, 03:09:01 PM »
I have had it running OK now for about 3 months and to day it wants to through a fit.

I have the VFD switching on J19 (put it on today) had to change Enable2 (pin 1) to RED on Active Low.

I loaded a program to cut, set the x,y,z, to zero and hit start. The program was ET with piece sign. I am using Aspire 8 for the text file and the order of cutting is eyes then complete cut out. It started with something ??? not what Mach3 was showing for the cut job.

It ran into one of my X limit switchs and triggered an Estop. (that is working well thank the stars) I went to (settings) in Mach3 hit Auto LinitOverRide to get off the switch. ALL it wants to do is go towards the switch (X-), (hit Tab) press X+ it goes X-. go to MDI type in X10 (mm) Mach3 X readout goes to X+10. But the machine goes -10. Type in X-10 the machine goes 20 to minus.

I turn off everything, moved the X by hand back the the middle of the table and restarted all, computer, pmxd, vfd. It still only moves to the minus.

I just put Enable 2 back to green, restarted, still the same.

 Y and Z are OK.

This may not be part of it, but sometime back we lost power in the area while I was running the table. Now when I wake up the machine and hit Spindle CW F5 the spindle control card relay clicks but the spindle will not start. If I load a program, hit Cycle Start the spindle starts. After that I can start and stop the spindle with or without a program loaded.

I have posted answers to your question Bob, but they are showing up on the forum. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry from being late on the reply. Thought I had set it a long time back, but do not see it.

The problem is this the same.

PS: made this yesterday. If anyone wants the V-carve 8 files please give me your email address in a message.

General Discussion / LED Signs
« on: June 24, 2015, 02:29:57 PM »
I found this out the other day.

If you are cutting plastic to make LED signs coat it with a heavy coating of Simple Green. I have been playing with speeds til I am blue and it would keep gumming up my cutter. I was doing some cleaning around and got a wild idea so I sprayed to plate. Dam it works.

It was a unit I was in.

General Discussion / Mach3 holding E Stop
« on: June 24, 2015, 02:22:12 PM »
First I want to thank everyone for the help I have received to get this first time cnc user going.

 Back ground: Toys

computer with single parallel cable.
126, 107, 134

Software: Vcarve8, Mach3.

I have a relay hooked up to the power to the 134 so if it drops power the relay closes on 126 fault. I have three safety kill switches. One side to 106 E Stop, the other side kills power to 134 and the spindle.

The trouble I am having is on the first time wake up (if Mach3 is on or not) all starts up and ready to go.

BUT.   If I am running and do a safety switch E Spot it goes into E Stop like designed. But will not come out of E Stop until I turn off all power the the 106 or turn off the Mach3 program then restart.

Is there a setting I need to change?

I am sorry to say that the PMDX-126 reads to me like stereo destruction. grin. I am word dyslectic but mechanical photographic. So I get lost reading most of your manual.

Is there a drawing/ picture out someplace that labels the connection? Like connection block J11 has 10 connection. From top to bottom, (1 dose ?) (2 dose ?) and so on.

I have the PMDX 126, 107, 134, G203V Digital Step Drive. I just hope I have ordered enough parts to make this thing work.

One of the things I work on is calling system, door electronic hardware and automatic. +++ I am a restoration locksmith here in Norway. So I pretty good with the wiring.
