PMDX-411 not powering up
« on: January 12, 2018, 05:15:40 PM »
Hey, just ran into an issue with my PMDX-411 running to a C10 BOB.  Worked fine couple weeks ago just fired the machine back up and Mach4 cannot locate the smart bob also neither of the LED's are illuminating.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've tried different USB ports as well as a different PC.

Have you tried disconnecting the C10 from the PMDX-411?  Take just the PMDX-411, with nothing connected to it and plug it in to the PC's USB port and see what happens.   If the PC has USB ports on the back and front of the PC, try the PMDX-411 in both places.  If the PMDX-411 still doesn't come up, contact PMDX as it may need to be sent back for repair.

Curiosity - how are you powering the C10?

Thanks for the response,  yes I've tried different USB ports as well as a seperate pc all together, as well as unplugging it from the C10 BOB, still no signs of life at all.

The 411 is self powered via USB connection, the C10 is powered by a 5v dc power supply.  now that I think about the reason i stopped using the machine before the holidays the 5v power supply for the C10 shorted out so I replaced it, now I'm wondering if maybe the short traveled to the 411 and pooched it as well.  Either way the 411 doesn't come up at all in any way nor do the LED's illuminate so I'm guessing it's toast

Yeah, sounds like it took out the 411 as well.  Time to contact PMDX.  See the warranty and repairs page on their web site.

For sure, first thing I did was put an email in to tech support figured I'd stop by here while waiting on a reply
