How to purchase for USA customers

Standard Shipping

We normally ship via USPS Priority Mail within the USA for a low flat rate charge independent of how much you order.  In a few instances when there are USPS exceptions, or for items weighing more than 10 pounds such as control systems and their enclosures, we may charge by weight. Items where this applies will state that a quotation is needed before ordering. Priority Mail does not provide tracking information but typically takes only two or three days in the continental USA. Delivery confirmation is provided by Priority Mail. 

Expedited Shipping

Shipment via Federal Express or UPS is available and does provide tracking; however it is much more expensive. If you require Federal Express or UPS shipping, please contact us in advance by e-mail with your delivery address, preferred shipment method, and the items that you wish to purchase. We will respond with detailed cost information and a PayPal invoice that you can use for direct payment if desired. If you desire expedited shipping, please do not use the shopping cart system to place your order.

Express Mail domestic shipping by postal service is available, but PMDX is not responsible for postal delivery delays, and due to excessive bureaucracy, will not make claims with postal agencies for refunds due to slow delivery. PMDX will seek refunds in the case of insured shipments that are not delivered. 

Stock Levels

Items offered for sale are normally available from stock in small quantities. Please e-mail to confirm availability, pricing, and shipping costs prior to ordering quantities for more than two systems. Please e-mail with information about model, quantity desired, preferred shipping method , and payment arrangements.

Shipping Terms

All shipments are FOB our shipping point in Lorton, VA, USA. Items shipped to the customer become customer property at the time that a "common carrier" or shipping company accepts the package. 

If shipping insurance is desired, the customer must request and pay for the insurance. In some cases PMDX may require that the shipment be insured. Some shipping methods include a small amount of insurance by default. PMDX will assist the customer with insurance claims, should a claim need to be filed.

Purchase Orders

Purchase orders with credit terms are available only for orders exceeding $500.00 and will be accepted only after credit terms are established. A Dun and Bradstreet rating or other verifiable credit history is required.

Verbal purchase orders cannot be accepted, you must provide a written and signed purchase order by mail or FAX.

After a long history of dealing with the time consuming bureaucracy of educational institutions and government organizations, we no longer accept purchase orders for less than $500.00. Please arrange to make your purchase by prepayment or PayPal as described below.

Payment Methods Accepted

We are now accepting PayPal payments as our preferred payment method for customers in the USA and offer them a Paypal Shopping Cart for automated purchase. Look for the Paypal Shopping Cart logo at the bottom of each product description page. This service allows you to use most credit cards and signup is easy if you are not already using Paypal.  For additional information on how to set up and use a Paypal account, please click on the Paypal logo above.

Credit card orders can ONLY be processed using Paypal, we do not accept credit cards by phone, fax, or mail. You can now use PayPal for a one time credit card payments without becoming a PayPal member, just use the regular shopping cart checkout and click on the button offered to those who do not currently have a PayPal account.

Sorry, but we do not offer COD shipments.

All checks or money orders should be payable to Practical Micro Design, Inc. (our parent company). Checks are accepted if the preprinted address on the check is the same as the address to which the product will ship. Money orders and cashier's checks may be used should the need arise.

Shipping and handling charges will be added to the sales price of the items ordered. If the charges are not specified in the product listing, please contact in advance for determination of these charges. Shipments are normally by USPS Priority Mail within the USA.

Shipments to locations in the state of Virginia will be charged sales tax unless the order is accompanied by the required exemption application.

Returns

We realize that customers sometimes order the wrong item. PMDX may accept the return of unused items for a partial refund at our discretion. There will be a 15% restocking charge and there are no refunds of shipping charges. Items to be returned must be in new condition. All returns must be authorized in advance.
